Scholarships

There are a number of Scholarships available. Please discuss with the careers adviser.

  1. ATTO Academic Scholarship
    $3000 each, to study Level 3, 4 or 5 of an approved ATTO qualification
  2. Asia NZ Undergraduate Scholarship
    To study at the National University of Singapore
  3. Competenz Scholarship
    Students wanting to enter a trade $2500
  4. David Johnstone Charitable Trust
    Aimed to assist students who are not necessarily top academic but have plenty to offer in terms of initiative and enterprise.  University $4000, Polytechnic $4000
  5. Douglas Myers Scholarship
    To attend Calus College in Cambridge to undertake a degree
  6. Girdlers Scholarship
    To attend Corpus Christi College in Cambridge valued at £18,000 per annum for three years
  7. Kick Start Engineering - Auckland University
    Valued at $2000 for one year
  8. Kitchener Memorial Scholarship
    One scholarship valued at $500 available to children of past or present members of the armed forces taking an agricultural course at university
  9. Mervyn Sterling Memorial Scholarship
    This $4850 award for up to 4 years is offered by the Otamatea Kauri and Pioneer Museum Trust Board for study in the fields of environmental conservation, ecology, and Northland history, to people with strong affiliations with the area
  10. Russell McVeagh Law Scholarships $1000
    To study law at any university
  11. Keystone Study Awards
    Funds students completing a course relevant to property, architecture, engineering, valuation and surveying
  12. Sullivan Scholarship
    This $600 scholarship for up to 5 years, is open to members of the Roman Catholic Church who are going to Medical School or taking a Medical Intermediate course
  13. Teach NZ Scholarships - $10,000
  14. Te Ohu Kai Moana Charitable Trust Scholarships
    Helping Maori to get into and develop the business and activity of fishing
  15. Maori Education Trust
    Must be of Maori or Polynesian descent, range of tertiary courses funded
  16. Toll NZ Ltd
    For students to attend a tertiary institution who have family who have worked at Toll NZ - $2000 per annum

  18. Victoria University
     *
    Ormond Wilson Scholarship - must enrol in BA and/or BSC.  Genuine financial hardship
     * Sir Robert Jones Humanities Scholarship - top level 3 NCEA  student, must major in one or more of Classics, History, Philosophy,  Political Science
     * School of Architecture Scholarship
     * School Leaver Scholarships - for academic excellence
  19. Waikato University Scholarships
     *
    Sir Edmund Hilary Scholarship - academic excellence, high performers, creative and performing arts, or sport
     * Perry Foundation Scholarship - enrolled in BSC degree, $2500
     * Law Scholarship - $150
     * Science Admission Fees Scholarship - need to be enrolled in a Bachelor of Science and Technology degree, $4000
     * Brian Smith Memorial Entrance - need to be enrolled in a BMS degree, value $1500
  20. Otago University - Dux Scholarship, First in Family
  21. University of Canterbury Emerging Leaders Scholarships - any first year student
  22. Lincoln University - Sports scholarships
  23. Waikato Times Scholarship - Communication Studies, $4000
  24. NZEST Top Academic Scholarship - $5000
  25. IPENZ Foundation Scholarships - $5000 to study professional engineering
  26. Zespri Horticulture Scholarship - $3000.  Study full time in Horticulture
  27. Hamilton YWCA Young Woman Scholarship - study in Hamilton area, $2000

Hamilton Girls High School Scholarships

  1. HD Tait:  value $50.  Available to Year 11 students
  2. May Allen:  value $200.  Available to Year 12 students
  3. Rotary Club of Waikato Sunrise:  value $75 each. Available to Year 11 and Year 12 students
  4. Rotary Club of Waikato Sunrise:  value $500 each.  To the Dux, and the top scoring student in Year 13
  5. Joyce Brooks: v alue $60.  To the top Year 13 Accounting student
  6. Auckland Old Girls:  value $30.  Year 13 Hostel student
  7. Auckland Old Girls:  value $40.  Year 13 student
