STAR Courses

Senior STAR Courses available 2012:

Senior STAR (Secondary Tertiary Alignment Resource) courses are available for year 10-13 students.  These short courses are an excellent way for students to explore career opportunities in a variety of areas including Equine, Hairdressing, Maori Arts, Nannying, Flight Attending, Armed forces, Police Preparation, Automotive plus many more. Some of the courses have unit standards attached so the students can gain credits towards their NCEA. Year 11-13 courses run in term 2 and year 10 in term 3  Students will bring home a permission letter explaining the course they have chosen.  Although there is no cost to the students for these courses the school is allocated a STAR budget and funding is provided.  Therefore students do need to be committed to attending once they have signed up.  Transport to all courses is the students responsibility.
