Entry Requirement: Priority will be given to students who have taken Geography at Level 1 NCEA and/or Level 1 NCEA. Other students can be taken into the course with HOD approval.
Course Outline:
- Environmental and planning issues in New Zealand. They study actual problems, needs or issues affecting people and the natural environment, and do a research topic of their own choice about a local planning issue and a global study of a world-wide issue.
- Natural landscapes and is a study of the Waitomo Karst (limestone), including a field trip.
- Differences in development between Tanzania and the USA. Work is assessed using Achievement Standards, both during the year and in the external exams. This course is useful if you are interested in people's impact on the environment and planning and develops your writing and research skills for Level 3 Geography.

$10.00 for print resources

Where does it lead? Level 3 Geography. This course provides excellent skills in analysis, research, and an understanding of the environment and our interactions with this.
