Tourism Level 3Code: TOU 3 Subject: Tourism Level: Three Entry Requirement: Open entry Course Outline: This is the second part of the National Certificate in Tourism and Travel Introductory Skills. This course gives students skills that they could use in a Tourism based career and can be used as a prerequisite for tertiary based courses. They study New Zealand and Australian tourism, and major attractions in these places. Students learn a lot about their country and Australia and basic features of the travel industry including research and communication skills. Students will increase their computer skills. The work is assessed using Unit Standards and there are two compulsory field trips to Waitomo and Central Auckland. This course is useful for anyone who is interested in a career in the travel or tourism industry or is curious about finding out more about New Zealand, Australia and travel.
