Entry Requirement:  6 to 10 NCEA Level One Applied Science/Science credits OR HOD approval

Course Outline:  Applied Science is the study of the living, physical and material world.  This course is a highly practical one intended for those students for whom the academic study of Science is not a major focus.  However, this course leads to a National Certificate in Science which can be completed at work or Polytechnic.  The topics covered include human reproduction, the structure and function of cells, how groups of substances eg. cosmetics, meet the needs of society, chemical change and electrical systems.
