2012 Head Students

Head Girl - Morgan Renata

Deputy Head Students - Mairarangi Haimona and Georgia Boden

Kia Ora girls, My name is Morgan Renata and I have the prodigious honour of being your Head Girl for 2012. I am incredibly excited to be part of a team of senior leaders as talented and enthusiastic as what we have here this year at Hamilton Girls' High School. This year my aim is to increase student involvement in school life through all year levels and enhance the sense of pride girls have in our school. I have no doubt in my mind that as a team we will be able to accomplish that this year and further extend on the platform that has been laid before us and set our own new benchmark. Hopefully I will see all of you getting involved this year, making the most of every opportunity you are given and striving to make 2012 our most enjoyable and memorable year yet. I wish you all the best of luck for this year and if you see me around don't be shy to come and say hello. MORGAN RENATA

Kia Ora girls, Ngā mihi nui mō tenei tau, my name is Maira Haimona and I have the honour of being your Deputy Head Girl for 2012.  It's a role I take on with all its expectations and privileges.   In return I hope to give the girls of HGHS an enjoyable experience at school whether through education, sports, the arts or even just hanging out with your mates. Last year was such a superb year in which we celebrated our centennial year and this year I hope to make it better. With our "Big sisters" back in school for another year and our "Little Sisters" being introduced to the world of High School there is so much excitement to get this year on the way!  There will be our highly competitive events of athletics and swimming sports to start us off, then all kinds of house events, exams, nationals and fun themed mufti days.  It's going to be great! I am so glad to be working with a amazing group of Senior Leaders this year that will help make these events happen all through the year that each student can be a part of and enjoy. I promise to share these good times with you girls and inevitably represent Hamilton Girls' High School proudly and fulfil expectations to the best of my ability. So this year I hope you girls will challenge yourselves, set the bar higher and have fun (: Good luck and I'll see yous around! MAIRARANGI HAIMONA

Hi Girls, My name is Georgia Boden and I am so unbelievably honoured and excited to be one of your Deputy Head Girls this year! I can't wait to work with all the amazingly hilarious girls in Executive council and to get cracking with different and unique assembly ideas. It is the year of the Chinese Dragon and the Chinese Dragon symbolises excellence, boldness, perseverance, optimism and ambition. These qualities are essential for the senior leaders and myself to have if we want this year to be unforgettable. A dragon overcomes obstacles until success. This is exactly what I intend to do and help others to do. There will be obstacles and we, as a team, will be going over, under, around and through them. This year will be challenging and as Mitre Ten would say, 'She's a pretty big job!' but I will do my very best and more. I'm looking forward to meeting some awesome people along the way, having a good laugh and feeling the fear but doing it anyway. Bring on the year of the Dragon! GEORGIA BODEN

2011 Head Students

Head Girl - Courtney Bell

Deputy Head Students - Linda Kells and Olivia Ward-Duin

Kia Ora girls, My name is Courtney Bell and I have the incredible privilege of being your Head Girl for 2011. We have a very talented team of Senior Leaders this year and I am extremely excited to be working alongside each and every one of them. This year Hamilton Girls' High School is celebrating its 100th year and I am very happy that my Year 13 happens to coincide with this. I'm sure all the centennial celebrations will only make the year that much more special and that much more memorable for everyone involved. Be sure to make the most of every single moment in high school because it might not seem like it right now but your years here at Hamilton Girls' High will probably be some of the best years of your life. So get involved in everything you possibly can, take every opportunity offered to you, face challenges head on and remember to make things happen for yourself. I promise to represent the student body of our school to the absolute best of my ability. Good luck and I wish you all a fantastic year. COURTNEY BELL

Kia Ora, Hi girls I'm Linda Kells and I have the great privilege and honour of being one of your deputy Head Girl's for 2011. I'm so stoked to have the chance to represent you all and help take our school to a new level to show everyone just how great our school is, with of course the help from our great senior leaders this year. I'm even more excited about our big birthday this year. Whoop whoop happy 100th birthday to us!! :), It's going to be an awesome year and I can't wait to celebrate with all our old girls and of course all our new 'lil sister's'; here's to the best year this school will ever see!.... well until the next 100 rolls around :) LINDA KELLS

Hey Girls, My name is Olivia Ward-Duin and I am so incredibly excited to have the opportunity to be part of the best senior leader team HGHS has ever seen. 2011 is the year that marks our schools 100th birthday (and the anticipated arrival of our letter from the Queen.) This year we will create special memories for not only the present students of HGHS but also for the Old Girls who will be returning to get in on all the action and celebrations. I hope you have your costumes ready for house days so we can put the Wellington sevens to shame, your singing voices ready for songfest, whether they are in tune or not.  Get ready to pop, lock, jam and break it down on the dance floor.  Prepare your mind for the incredible amount of information our stunning teachers will help us with. Let's lol, lmao and rofl daily, while having the time of our lives. I look forward to getting to know each and every one of you as one of your Deputy Head Girls for 2011.
Good luck, work hard, laugh harder. OLIVIA WARD-DUIN

Kia Ora, Talofa Lava!

I am very proud to say that I will be representing you all as your Head Girl for 2010 alongside a tight bunch of our very keen Senior Leadership team. I will be doing my very best to be that positive role model for my girls, exactly how past Head Girls have been for me. There are a number of things I already love about this role but a major one being all the new faces I have met and many more I will get to know throughout the year. Remember to really make the most of your years here at HGHS and to challenge yourself to get involved in things you wouldn't normally do. The time you spend at girls high is one you want to remember forever so I will be doing my very best to ensure you all do that.  Faamalosi ma ia manuia (go hard and I wish you well)  HINEIRA MAITLAND

By being Deputy Head Girl people think you get extra privileges or get special treatment well I just want to clear this up, but yes, in fact we do. If you don't already know me or want to have your ideas heard just find me and talk to me! I won't bite! Promise!! :)  THIRUNA SELVARATNAM
