Entry Requirement:  Satisfactory achievement in Year 10 Technology

Course Outline:    This course provides a progression from Year 10 Technology but with a year long focus on product development using Resistant Materials. Students will apply a technology process to the investigation of an issue and development of products to meet needs or opportunities which they identify. Practical skills, product trials and the production of final products form a major component of this course. Students will also be required to present a portfolio documenting their process and providing evidence of their learning. Both practical product and portfolio contribute to assessment, neither stands alone. Assessment: This course is assessed by Technology Achievement Standards

Costs:  $30.00 Students also need to provide materials for their individual projects.

Where does it lead?  Pre-requisite for Level 2 and 3 courses in Technology (Food, Fashion, Materials and Graphics). This is a university approved course which supports student learning for any university degree as well as forming a vital component of being an informed citizen and consumer.  The practical skills component may also provide a pathway to trade related courses and careers.
