Entry Requirement:  TES Level One and /or 2,  OR HOD approval. 

Course Outline:  This course is based on the Technology curriculum and at this level requires students to investigate and develop a solution for a client-based issue which they will identify.  Students will work on one major project for the year, developing and testing a conceptual design first before producing and implementing the final product.  Students can foucus their project on garments, interior or product design depending on their area of interest.  A portfolio documenting the research and development process is an integral part of the assessment.   Assessment: Technology Achievement Standards will be used to assess the various components of students major projects.

Costs:  $30.00 Students also need to provide materials for individual projects.

Where does it lead?  This is a university approved course which supports student learning for any university degree as well as forming a vital component of being an informed citizen and consumer.  The specific skills and knowledge learnt will prepare students for Fashion, Interior or Product Design Diploma and Degree courses, employment in the Fashion Industry or small business or leisure time pursuits.
