Course Outline:  This course offers an introduction to philosophical thinking.  It is most suited to students who are interested in thinking about issues in an abstract and theoritical way.  It requires high standards of literacy and students will need to be prepared to discuss a wide range of issues.  The two main areas that will be covered in class are ethics and the development of a sceptical attitude.  Assessment will be designed to match student interest; in general most students will have the opportunity to earn 6-8 credits.

Where does it lead?  This is an ideal background to studying a wide range of subjects at Level Three or at University.
