Triathlon training has become an integral part of our PE curriculum programme and the interest has grown considerably in our school. With outstanding triathletes on staff, our students who choose to take it to another step have access to top coaching.

Waka Ama is a popular sport that combines students from a number of clubs throughout the Waikato to compete for Hamilton Girls’ High School at the Waikato Secondary School and New Zealand Secondary Schools Championships in March each year.

Hamilton Girls’ High School offers water polo as a summer sport option at all year levels (9-13). Water polo is a sporting option to any student who is interested in the sport and although previous experience is not necessary, water confidence and a strong swimming ability is required. Students train once a week at Water World, Te Rapa, with Coach Kelsi Prentegast as well as additional training at the HGHS pool.
