Community Update – Term 2

Kia ora koutou

After a challenging Term 1, we hope you have had an opportunity for an enjoyable and restful break. During the holidays the Senior leadership team has reviewed our current Covid response phase and we can confirm we will be open for onsite learning for all year levels to commence Term 2. This phase decision will be reviewed on the 11th May and any changes will be communicated by the 12th May.

Please let your daughter know that all students will start on Monday 2nd May in their Whānau class at 8.45am

Mask wearing
From the start of Term 2, face masks are no longer compulsory at school for students and staff. However, public health advice is that masks are still strongly encouraged to be worn while indoors for students and staff. Wearing a mask is a key health measure that slows the spread of COVID-19. For that reason, we ask that visitors to the school, including parents and whānau, wear a mask whenever they are indoors on school grounds. Please note that students must still wear a mask on both public and school transport.

Students are also asked to bring a mask to school every day as there may be times that we will ask them to wear one – for example, when we are having an assembly. If there are a high number of cases at school or in the community, we may ask that masks be worn in classrooms for a time.

We will continue to keep all the other health measures in place at school which slow the spread of COVID-19. These include ensuring our indoor spaces are well-ventilated, maintaining good hand hygiene and cough and sneeze etiquette, appropriate physical distancing whenever we can and, most importantly, staying home if we are sick.

New Student Timetables for Term 2
All students will receive a paper copy of their timetable during Whānau time on Monday 2nd May. There have been many changes to the allocation of rooms for classes as a result of Hepburn Block coming back into use and the majority of students will have some room changes on their timetable. Timetables can also be viewed via the KAMAR Portal and the KAMAR App and all changes made will show on these now.
