Year 12 student, Sophie Hodges, continues to build on her success in squash with her open women’s national title.
Sophie Hodges and her doubles partner Abbie Palmer, one of the top women’s players in New Zealand, secured the NZ Squash Doubles Championship in straight games 2 nil at the NZ Squash Championships. Sophie credits her win to all the hard work and experience she has gained traveling the world playing her chosen sport.
With her passion ignited from the age of eight, it is little wonder that Sophie is building an extensive list of achievements including NZ U13, U15, and U17 Championships. Her advice to any young players is to find someone to inspire you and most of all enjoy every moment with the people you meet along the journey.
We certainly look forward to following her continued success in the coming years.
