Hamilton Girls’ High School is a signatory to the New Zealand Education Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students.
This means your daughter’s safety, wellbeing, and learning are at the heart of everything we do.

We also offer:

A full orientation programme – helping students settle in and understand school life.
24/7 emergency support – help is always available.
Regular homestay and wellbeing checks – visits and surveys are given to make sure students are safe and happy.
Academic mentoring and ESOL support – guidance to help students succeed in class.
A dedicated International Support Team – staff who know each student.
Kiwi Buddy Programme – students have an instant friend who helps them at school.
Emergency Contact Information – all students are provided with an essential contact list of numbers to help them while in New Zealand.
School Nurse available at the Health Clinic.
Doctor visits one day each week to the Health Clinic by appointment.
School counsellors available for students.
Diversity Counsellors – specifically for international students are also available by appointment.

Parents can feel sure that their daughter is safe, supported, and known as an individual.
