Sonninghill is the Hamilton Girls High School Hostel. It is located in Marama Street, a short walk from school, the CBD, Hamilton Lake, shopping, restaurants and cafes, movies, Waikato Stadium and Seddon Park cricket ground.
Our hostel is set in beautifully manicured grounds and can accommodate up to 132 people. 32 beds are in ensuite motel style units with the remaining 100 beds as a mix of rooms and dormitory style arrangements. The main building also has a laundry, recreation room with a pool table and exercise equipment; tv lounge with Sky channels and a large meeting room. All indoor buildings have wireless access.
The grounds have a swimming pool, tennis/netball court, large deck and BBQ.
The option to self-cater is there for groups of 32 or less with a modern kitchen, tv lounge area, large meeting room and laundry adjacent to the units.
For larger groups the commercial kitchen and dining room is operated by our catering team and they are able to provide groups with 3 meals a day plus morning and afternoon tea if required. Packed lunches can also be organised for offsite lunches if preferred. Breakfast and dinner is served in the dining room.
We provide linen, duvets, blankets and towels if required.
Sonninghill is available for hire during set leave weekends and school holidays.
