Maadi Cup rowers make history!

HGHS walked away with not one but two well-deserved gold medals at the 2022 Aon Maadi Cup!

Monique Austin and Mila Graham took the first gold in the NU18 2x, making HGHS back-to-back champions in this event! Monique and Mila won by over 7 seconds.

Our U18 4x+ consisting of Gabrielle Austin, Mila Graham, Madeline Cox, Phoebe Barnes and coxed by Reegan Isaac also took out gold! In a nail-biting last 250m the girls managed to just hold on and take out the title by 0.36 of a second! Follow this link here to watch the footage about how close this race really was.

Two golds represent two firsts for HGHS. First time winning back-to-back gold in the novice doubles, and the first time winning the Noel Lynch Trophy for the U18 Quad!

HGHS also placed 11th overall and 3rd all-girls school at the regatta. Some amazing work from the entire squad down at Maadi Cup this week! A further congratulations to all our rowing finalists:
